I’m Jill, a Birmingham wedding photographer who likes to keep things fun and relaxed. If you’re after an alternative to stuffy, boring photos and want to capture real laughs, real love and maybe a bit of silliness then I’m your woman! I love working with people who really care about their photography, and who stick a finger up to the ‘shoulds’ and do things their own way. Those couples rock.
I think it’s super important to get on with your wedding photographer. I’m just about the only person aside from your guests who is there all day, and your photos are going to be all the more awesome if you’ve had fun creating them. I approach every wedding with enthusiasm, and I love hearing about my couples and their stories. For me, great photos are all about capturing the spirit of the people in them – it’s not about me dictating how you should look, it’s about you being yourselves and bringing real emotions to life! If you want to see some examples of my work, head on over to the blog; If you’re after some more information about the way I work, pop over to the info page. But if you just want to see if you reckon we will get on, here’s a summary of what I’m all about…
Book with me if…
… And here’s a bit about me
I’m energetic and I talk at about 78,000 words a minute when I get going, I get really excited about things that interest me, I love meeting new people, I love a good pun, If I’m home I’ve usually got a cat sitting on me, and when nobody’s looking I dance around my house singing along to my favourite tunes (which are many and varied as I’m a bit obsessed with music – think The Gaslight Anthem, Jenny Lewis, Meat Loaf, Bruce Springsteen and The Cat Empire on the same playlist). I live with my other half Mark and my cat Shiva, and our favourite things to do are playing board games (the nerdier the better), watching terrible films, drinking gin in the garden or binge watching Netflix. I drink far too much coffee, I cant say no to cake, I love most things from the 80s and I can always be relied upon to get on the dance floor at weddings.
So that’s me, the short version. If you fancy the long version, let’s set up a meeting over a cuppa/G&T and have a natter – let’s find things in common!
If you think we’ll get on, and you want someone with an alternative approach, you can contact me below and tell me a bit about yourselves.
“I hadn’t quite appreciated just how important finding the right photographer is – not just for the quality of the photos but about finding someone that you genuinely get on with and can feel relaxed around.”
