As you’ll know if you have a little look around my site, I’m no stranger to a wedding at the Kedleston Country House, but I absolutely love getting invited back so much. When Abigail and Greg got in touch to ask me to shoot their wedding, I knew we’d be a good fit right from the off. They told me all about how they wanted their wedding to be – full of good fun, relaxed, and a chance to really spend time with everyone. They also told me about their gorgeous pup Angus, who ended up taking quite a starring role in their engagement shoot. I knew from the engagement shoot that their wedding would be a stylish affair. These two have such an ease about them but both always look amazing!
I love seeing what people choose to wear on their wedding day – it’s always interesting to see what outfit people go for on the biggest day of their life. Abigail looked absolutely stunning in a simple elegant cowl neck gown and gold Jimmy Choo shoes. She topped it all off with the most amazing confetti veil and looked every inch the bride. I love that her girls also wore white, we don’t see that too often! they all set their look off perfectly with a bold red lip, and eucalyptus and herb bouquets made by Abigail’s mum.
The guys didn’t disappoint either. Greg went for a bold plum suit, teamed with super fancy Prada shoes (who says the girls should have all the shoe joy?), and had his best men in tuxedos. This gang looked so effortlessly cool, I love that they still had fun though. Formal wear doesn’t have to equal formal attitude!
Relaxed wedding at The Kedleston Country House
The whole day was exactly as they wanted – relaxed, fun, all about spending time with family. During the daytime, everything was elegant and beautiful. There were succulents and herbs on the tables, copper accents, macarons on the cake, and even a little fondant Angus since he couldn’t be there in person. Abigail walked up the aisle to ‘Right Here, Right Now’ by Fatboy Slim, which gave a little hint of things to come in the evening. The Kedleston is such a nice venue for a chilled out wedding, it’s got the perfect vibe and the decor means not too much else is needed. The speeches were lovely and heartfelt, with Greg declaring Abigail as his ‘specialist subject’. Couple goals! They ate bangers and mash, because that’s Abigail’s favourite. Now that is my kind of approach to wedding food.
Now for the evening. Abigail and Greg love a good rave-up, so since it was their wedding, the party was awesome! Their good friend was on DJ duty and had even expertly remixed a club classic to include their new surname as a surprise. Absolute legend! The party was soon in full swing, and there were some excellent shapes being thrown on the dancefloor. To top the evening off, they had a Dominos delivered at 2am for the hungry ravers. Amazing.
