When Laura and Alex wanted to book in for their engagement shoot, I knew we’d be shooting somewhere in the Bristol area. These two have got the cutest love story – friends for a decade, and then as soon as Laura moved to Bristol, the time was right and they fell in love. Within no time they were engaged! They wanted to include their beloved city in their shoot, so what better plan than to have their engagement shoot at the Clifton Suspension Bridge? The bridge is one of the most iconic structures in the UK and it’s got tons of fun places surrounding it too. There’s an awesome stone slide, a pretty observatory and a sweet little garden just around the corner.
Include your favourite things in your shoot!
The thing I loved about this shoot wasn’t so much the choice of location itself (even though it’s gorgeous, I do love a nice bridge), but that it meant so much to the two of them. Laura and Alex were totally in their element, having fun and being relaxed throughout the shoot. As it turns out, that kind of relaxed vibe was needed as the weather was throwing everything at us! The wind was bonkers, it rained and we had to hide in a children’s wendy house, and then the beautiful evening sun even tried to blind them. None of that mattered though, and some of the daft windy photos even ended up being favourites for all of us.
I am all about people who stay true to themselves, have their favourite things involved in their wedding and pre shoot, and just rock their own style. If that’s a bit of you then drop me a line, I’d love to hear from you!
